The Accidental Repertory Theater (ART) was conceived by its founders, and Artistic Director John Strasberg, as an international theater center whose activities are:

  • Develop and create productions of new and classic works for theater.
  • Create a professional workshop for actors, writers and directors in which they can work on themselves and their craft.
  • Develop a rotating company of actors, writers and directors that will participate in ART’s projects.
  • Develop a professional training program for actors, directors, and writers.
  • Develop an arts-in-education program that will create programs for students of varying ages.
  • Create teaching programs for television and the Internet that can reach a large and diverse audience.

Like all cultural endeavors, which historically are an important part in the development of a great society, this will require the collaboration of artists, politicians, corporations and foundations (which in a middle-class society replace the patrons of the arts that have supported art throughout the ages) and the general public. Each of these groups represents an important segment of our culture.

So whoever you are, there's an opportunity for you with ART. Welcome. Join us.
